Why did the Google Maps button disappear in Europe?

Many users in European Union countries are already finding it difficult to find one of their favorite functions in Google – Google Maps.
The button below the search bar is gone.
This makes it very difficult to find a specific address on the map.
Typically, when people typed in a search query, people would see filters like maps, images, news, videos, and finance right below the search bar.
However, they recently noticed that the Maps option has disappeared.
And now an image appears if you are looking for a specific street, but the map is inactive.
Before, they would go directly to Google Maps and Google Street View and see what they expect to find.
This feature was incredibly useful as people were often looking for specific locations and being able to navigate directly to Google Maps with one click was another time saver.
Is there any way to restore the „Maps“ option in the search filters?
Not if you’re in the EU.
In the US, the function exists as before.
The change only affects the EU.
In Europe, new digital market laws mean that big tech companies like Google are no longer allowed to have easy buttons that let you jump between Search and Maps because they favor their own products.
Well, unfortunately for users, there is no better product than Google’s.
For the same reason, when searching for a video, YouTube videos are no longer at the top of the search.
