An incredible attraction appeared in the sea near Burgas.
Divers installed an underwater chapel near the island of Saint Anastasia near Burgas. The attraction is already waiting for lovers of extreme experiences. Anyone who wishes will be able to dive to the place, BTV reported.
„This year we revived an old project started 6 years ago. A full-size Orthodox chapel to be submerged in the Burgar Bay area and become a diving site for divers from Bulgaria and the whole world. It has full dimensions – 4 m long, 2 m wide and 2.80 m high, with an Orthodox cross on the cube, with four icons inside, an altar stone – a real chapel,“ said diver Stoyan Dimirov from the „Friends of the Sea“ club.
The chapel is at a depth of 15 meters and is about 200 meters from the island. It is accessible to both scuba divers and so-called scuba divers. freedivers. A statue of Saint Anastasia, who is the protector of the island, is also placed next to it.
„It is located outside the chapel and is of full human height – 180 cm. It was made by a famous sculptor of ours who works in Italy and is very beautiful,“ added Stoyan Dimitrov.
The underwater chapel is located next to the island of the same name, and whoever wants to light a candle can do so in the temple on the island.
“Then they can dive into the water. There are icons of Saint Anastasia, the Holy Mother of God, John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. There is also an altar table. I personally had the pleasure of diving to that 15 meters, the feeling is amazing. God is also under the water,“ said Pavlin Dimitrov, manager of St. Anastasia Island.
In a few months, the attraction will be fully accessible. Since the piece of land falls under „NATURA 2000“ and is close to the Burgas naval base, the sinking of the attraction has been coordinated with the Eco-Ministry and the military.
It has also been thought of for people who cannot dive. It is planned to place a web camera in the underwater parklis and everyone can watch what is happening in real time.
