A Walmart customer in Las Vegas reported a very unpleasant incident at the store.

We all know that self-checkout machines sometimes slow things down instead of speeding them up.

It often happens that something is not charged.

There are also people who use them for the first time and are worried.

Tension builds.

However, the chains win because they save a lot of costs.

At the end, however, there is a person at the exit who checks the receipt.

If you’re caught not charging something correctly, you’re in trouble.

It feels like being a thief.

Here’s what someone wrote in the Las Vegas Parent Zone:

YO WALMART! STOP ACCUSING PEOPLE OF THEFT! You are almost exclusively self-checkout now. The last time I was there the lady checking receipts at the exit was stopping everyone. I chose not to participate in that foolishness, so I just skipped the exit line and left. I heard her saying „Sir, Sir“ as I kept walking. I simply raised my hand above my head and shook my receipt, as I kindly left the store.
You can either trust me to do self-checkout, or you can put your cashiers back in place so they can resume the position. I’m not interested in the job, so if I fall short, oh well. I’m also not interested in proving that I did your job for you. You expect me to be a cashier with no training then that’s your problem, not mine. Don’t audit me for a position you refuse to employ any longer.

Don’t worry as a recent former employee of a Walmart store I can guarantee you they don’t train their paid employees at all either

I want to say, thank you to all the wonderful receipt checkers I’ve interacted with at Walmart. I know you guys are just doing your jobs and you’ve always been so sweet and kind. I know retail is so tough to work in.

I used to go for the prices, but it looks like they’ve raised them a lot more recently. And yes I know about the inflation, but they used to have lower prices compared to others. That’s all I meant to say

I love self checkout faster, and I don’t have to make small talk with random people. I can say hi to my favorite employees, and be on with my day! If any store has self checkout, I’m most likely using that. How are y’all seriously SO triggered over your receipt being checked, like it’s a personal attack

I love self-checkout. I can bag my stuff the way I want it bagged and don’t have any cashiers (love y’all, it’s nothing against you, keep fighting the good fight) trying to make small talk with me when I just want to get in and get out.
You know what actually makes me mad? People who just launch their carts into the parking lot because they’re too lazy to walk them to a corral. I once had a lady shove her cart into the parking lot, and we both watched as it bounced off my car. Like, are people actually stupid?
