]]>Japanese fishermen have not yet been able to start fishing off the southern Kuril Islands, as Tokyo has failed to reach an agreement on this issue with Moscow. This was reported by the TASS agency.
Fishing in the area usually starts in mid-September. This year, however, local fishermen can only fish in Japanese waters. The start of the octopus catch, which usually begins in mid-October, remains a serious question.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova indicated that Russia could not reach an agreement on Japanese fishing in Russian territorial waters due to anti-Russian measures introduced by the country of the rising sun.
The dispute between Russia and Japan over the Kuril Islands dates back to the end of World War II. Both countries claim the islands as their domain.

]]>Russia is the largest country in the world by territory, which owns incredible unknown places for the world.
As a tourist destination, however, it is best known for the showcase cities of St. Petersburg and Moscow.
Other picturesque lands will never enter the world destinations for travel.
Photos of these places are hard to find even on the internet, and for unauthorized visits there is a large fine and confiscation of the photographic equipment, if not even bigger penalties.
They can be fenced with barbed wire and fences, at each entrance there are military checkpoints that check the presence of passports and passes.
Officially in Russia there are 38 closed cities. There are certainly others that are not marked on the map.
But we will soon not know anything about them.
For the 7 largest closed Russian cities, writes the channel „World of Science: Interesting Around“.

Zheleznogorsk and weapon-grade plutonium
The city of Zheleznogorsk is located in the Krasnoyarsk region. It was founded in 1950 and almost immediately closed for free visits. The locals call it Krasnoyarsk-26.
Here is the unique Mining and Chemical Combine, which for a long time was engaged in the production of weapon-grade plutonium. There is also a plant that produces satellites.
Most of Zheleznogorsk is built in the same style as the historical part of St. Petersburg: columns, a large number of sculptures, embellishing parks and roofs.
This is another city that is locked for outsiders due to the fact that here are produced radioactive elements – this time it is low-enriched uranium. Zelenogorsk is also located in the Krasnoyarsk Territory: in 2020, 60 thousand people lived here.
The peculiarity of this settlement is that it is not an embodiment of Soviet architecture, unlike its „brothers by fate“ there are wide boulevards, built by thick high-rise buildings, a lot of greenery and flowers. Perhaps only the monument to Vladimir Ilyich Lenin reminds of the past.
This test site was created in the Astrakhan region specifically for testing prototypes of ballistic missiles, whose production in the mid-40s began to actively develop in the USSR.
Today it is not so difficult to reach its territory: local authorities approve most of the applications for visiting Znamensk and its surroundings as part of tourist groups. Although free access to individuals is still prohibited.
Lesnoy is a center for disarmament and production of nuclear weapons
The town of Lesnoy is located in the Sverdlovsk region. On its territory there is a secret plant, between whose walls nuclear warheads are assembled, disassembled and neutralized, as well as radioactive elements are produced.
The construction of Lesnoy was carried out by prisoners from camps of the GULAG system located in the area. The architecture is Soviet classics: solid buildings type „Stalinka“, squares and parks typical for that time.
Ozersk (Chelyabinsk region) is an important object from a historical point of view: it is considered a predecessor of the nuclear industry in the USSR. And today it is very difficult to enter its territory: even relatives of employees can be denied a pass.
Severomorsk is Russia’s largest naval base
Severomorsk is located in the Murmansk region, on the shore of Kola Bay. The city was closed relatively recently – in 1996. Although the naval base appeared here back in the 30s of last century.
Severomorsk is a large settlement with a population of about 55 thousand people. On its territory you can find many memorable places, monuments and objects related to the history of the naval fleet of the USSR and Russia.
This populated place located in Chelyabinsk region is closed for free visits due to the fact that on its territory there is a Russian Federal Nuclear Center. Here a whole galaxy of scientists deals with the development of nuclear weapons.
Snezhinsk is a cozy city from which breathes the spirit of Soviet Union.
Here you can find unusual structures, ventilation pipes sticking out from the ground. It is said that there is a secret system of roads and communications underground.

]]>Материалът Islamic banking was launched in Russia: Interest is prohibited е публикуван за пръв път на Vihrogon.bg.
]]>The number of Muslims in Russia is difficult to determine precisely, as there are no official statistics on the religion in the country. Different sources give different data, which sometimes differ significantly. Some officials and media refer to the figure of 20 million people, but this is disputed and may be an overestimate. This figure may come from the 1989 census, when Russia was part of the USSR and had many more Muslim republics. According to other studies, the number of Muslims in Russia may be as high as 15 million, or about 10% of the population.
On September 1, Islamic banking began to work in Russia.
It’s a government experiment. It is launched in four regions – Tatarstan, Bashkiria, Chechnya and Dagestan, Komsomolskaya Pravda reported.
Link to the original https://www.kp.ru/daily/27549/4817002/
The pilot project will last for two years. The cabinet will then consider whether it is worth expanding to the whole country. In the meantime, we will understand what this phenomenon is and why it is necessary.
The main feature of Islamic banking is that there is no such thing as interest in it.
According to Sharia, it is simply impossible to give and take money for interest – it is haram – forbidden.
This is a limitation for both savers and borrowers.
The question is reasonable, how can banks live if they are deprived of the opportunity to take and give money for interest?
After all, this is the point of their work. Will they do charity work?
That’s right – I won’t and I won’t. But there is a way out, the publication points out.
NOT AN INVESTOR BUT A PARTNER
What is a contribution? In fact, we entrust the money to the bank, and it spins and spins it as it wants: invests in shares, lends to other customers, etc. The main thing is that at the end of the deposit period, the bank returns the money to us with interest.
But for a depositor who wants to observe all the norms of Islam, it is very important how the bank „turns and turns“ his money.
What if he invested them in something forbidden to Muslims – for example, shares in a distillery?
Also, remember that usury (lending money for interest) is haram – forbidden!
Therefore, in Islamic banking there is a scheme of so-called peer financing.
The customer who brings money to the bank, according to the documents, becomes not a depositor, but a partner of the bank in its business.
And the bank shares the profit with him. At the same time, the bank can invest its customers’ money only in projects permitted by Islam.
For example, it is impossible to finance the production and sale of tobacco and alcohol products, pork, weapons, as well as the gambling business.
An Islamic bank can also invest in stocks. According to Sberbank Peer Financing Center, there are at least 18 shares of companies on the Russian stock market that can be defined as halal. Among them are Alrosa, Magnit, Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Works, Yandex, Tatneft and Novatek.
And the result for all customers is the same. If the bank gives a deposit of 10% per annum, then this 10% will be received by both the „ordinary“ customer and the depositor under Islamic banking. The difference is only in the wording that will be written in the contract.
Credit in Islamic banking works in a similar way.
Let’s say a customer requests a loan for a laptop. And then the bank, acting according to Islamic rules, will buy that laptop for him and then sell it on payment at an inflated price. In fact, the bank in this case becomes an intermediary and sells the equipment at a higher price, including its profit in the cost price.
Now let’s take an Islamic mortgage.
It has been published for several years. In particular, one of the big banks comes from Tatarstan.
There really isn’t a percentage. As installments, equal payments. Free?
The site has a calculator. It turns out that for the use of a loan of 1.8 million rubles for 5 years, an additional 724 thousand rubles will have to be paid. This corresponds to an interest on the loan of 14.2% per annum. This is the normal mortgage rate. No more no less.
That is, whatever you call it – interest or loan overpayment – but an Islamic bank will charge you extra money for using borrowed money. For religious people, this matters. And for secular customers, there is no difference between Islamic credit and ordinary credit.
In this case, a reasonable question arises. Why then is this Islamic banking necessary, if its services differ from ordinary deposits and loans only by the wording in the documents?
In fact, the concern here is not primarily with individuals.
In the era of sanctions, the Western investor is reluctant to go to Russia.
And foreign investments are necessary for the development of the economy.
According to the Islamic Private Sector Development Corporation, the volume of the Muslim financial system in the world is about $4 trillion
And part of this money can already come to Russia.
In particular, negotiations are already underway with conservative investors from Turkey and Iran.

EXPERT OPINION
Islamic banking is more about ethics than business
Lazar Badalov, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, MISIS National Research and Technological University:
– It is not quite right to compare Islamic banking with Western European banking in terms of competition. The fact is that the differences are not related to competitive advantages, but to ethical and religious norms.
But in Islamic banking, usury is prohibited. Instead of a loan, Islamic banks can provide financing by setting up a joint venture with partners to share the profits received from investment in the project in the future.
It turns out that with a regular loan, the bank, regardless of the performance of the borrower, will require him to repay the debt plus interest.
In turn, Islamic banks tie debt repayment to project results, which simply demonstrates the ethics of Islamic business.
If I am not a Muslim, will they give me such a loan?
No one will force you to recite the Koran in the bank office. The law prohibits any discrimination, including on religious grounds. That is, anyone can get an Islamic mortgage or open a deposit according to Sharia norms. And here everything will be decided by the competition between traditional and Islamic banks. If the latter can give more favorable conditions, then they will attract more „partners“, regardless of their religion.
Islamic financing mechanisms operate in 136 countries around the world. At the same time, Islamic banks, due to their conservatism, are more likely to survive financial crises.
For example, during the subprime crash of 2008, they did best because they did not invest in risky securities (unlike Western banks that chased excess profits). Sharia prohibits all risky investments and complex financial instruments.

]]>A wave of bewilderment and anger swept through Russian military bloggers after 20 drones flew into the airport in the northeastern Russian city of Pskov last night and set off a veritable fireworks display of munitions and aircraft explosions.
The Russians themselves announced that 4 Il-76 military transport aircraft were damaged as a result of the drone attack.
Russian military officials are at a loss as to how the men of Major General Kyrylo Budanov, the mythical head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence under the Ministry of Defense in Kiev, organized such an operation.
Such a reaction is completely logical considering that the shortest distance from Ukrainian territory to Pskov airport is 664 kilometers.
If this route was used, however, the drones must have entered and exited unnoticed through the territory of Belarus.

Another hypothesis is that the drones took an extended route entirely through Russian territory, passing over Smolensk, which would extend the flight over 700 kilometers. This does not speak well for the Russian air defense capabilities.
The Telegram channel „The Two Majors“ also launched two more exotic versions. According to one of them, the attack could have come from the territory of a NATO country. Near Pskov are Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
„We don’t think at all about the last possibility – here, in Russia, that so many Ukrainian landing-reconnaissance groups are operating that can launch such a quantity of drones at the same time,“ the military commanders are angry.
„A night air attack. Kiev has not experienced such a powerful attack since the spring. The enemy carried out a massive, combined attack using drones and missiles,“ the military administration in the Ukrainian capital said.
It is noted that the invaders first used Shahed attack drones. Several groups of such drones flew in from different directions. Soon, however, rockets launched by Tu-95MS strategic bombers also flew towards the capital.
„In general, the air defense forces and means destroyed more than 20 enemy targets. In the capital, falling debris was registered in several districts. Unfortunately, there were also casualties. In the Shevchenko district, fragments of rockets killed two people, another was injured. Also thus, as a result of the fall of the debris, destruction and fires were caused in the Shevchenkivski and Darnitski districts,“ added the administration.
It is indicated that in both areas, debris fell on areas of non-residential buildings. Squads of the state emergency services extinguished the fires that occurred at the crash site.

„Ukrainian criminals announced that they had agreed on all kinds of strikes on everything in Russia, „for example, in Crimea,“ Medvedev wrote in Telegram.
„If this is true (and now there is no reason to doubt it), then this is direct legally significant evidence of the West’s complicity in the war against Russia on the side of Stepan Bandera’s state. A sophisticated casus belli, and for Russia an opportunity to act within of jus ad bellum against everyone and anyone in the NATO countries,“ he explains, Fakti reported.

In those days men will seek death, but they will not find it; they want to die, but death will flee from them (Revelation 9:6).

The model of the Embraer private jet that crashed in Russia with Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner mercenaries, on board has only one recorded accident in more than 20 years of service, and it was not related to mechanical failure.
Russian authorities said Prigozhin was listed as a passenger on the plane that crashed Wednesday night, killing all 10 people on board. The Russian news agency TASS reported that the plane was a Brazilian Embraer.
The company said it is aware of a plane crash in Russia involving a Legacy 600 aircraft, but has no further information on the case and has not provided maintenance services for that aircraft since 2019.

The Legacy 600 entered service in 2002, according to International Aviation HQ, with almost 300 produced until production ceases in 2020.
There is only one recorded incident involving the Legacy 600 according to International Aviation HQ, which occurred in 2006. That time the machine collided mid-air with a Gol Airlines Boeing 737-800 on its way from Embraer’s plant in Brazil to the United States.
Despite the damage to the smaller plane, the pilot landed it and no one was killed or injured. The commercial flight’s Boeing crashed, killing all 154 passengers.
Two years later, a Brazilian air force report blamed two American pilots, air traffic controllers and faulty communications for the mid-air collision. At the time, a lawyer for the pilots said specific air traffic controllers and deficiencies in Brazil’s air traffic control system caused the accident.

]]>The Ballistic Center of the M.V. Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences has carried out a detailed simulation of the trajectory of the Luna-25 after the failed „velocity switch“ on August 19, 2023, leading to the death of the device.
As a result, it turned out that the probe should have fallen at 14:58, a minute after the loss of contact with it (the hour of loss of communication is according to Roscosmos).
The crater’s coordinates are between 56.83 and 58.20 degrees south latitude and between 59.21 and 61.66 degrees east longitude. The crater itself is located next to the great ancient Pontecullan lunar cirque, up to 5.8 kilometers deep. The site „Ponteculan“ is named in honor of Philippe Gustave Ponteculan (1795-1874), a French military man who was engaged in astronomy in his spare time and calculated the orbit of Halley’s comet extremely accurately – for his era.

Here you can see the crater in an interactive map of the Moon created from its images. Pontecullan G is located on the visible side of the Earth satellite and is relatively easily accessible for observation. This means that the mathematicians’ calculations can be fully verified with the help of images from future missions to the Moon, the resolution of which will allow to see traces of the fall of the Russian apparatus, despite its modest size. Unfortunately, the Pontecullan G crater itself is not large enough to be seen from Earth with the naked eye.

ROSCOSMOS’ EXPLANATION OF THE DEATH OF MOON-25
According to the head of the state-owned corporation, the accident occurred because the engine was running too long. This usually happens with software bugs, although other versions cannot be ruled out either. His version does not differ much from the earlier assumptions already mentioned.
On August 19, 2023, at 15:00 Moscow time, Roscosmos lost contact with Luna-25 shortly after performing its second deceleration into lunar orbit. Now the head of the state corporation, Yuri Borisov, names more specific reasons for the demise of the automatic interplanetary probe.
„Unfortunately, the shutdown of the engine did not happen as planned, in accordance with the sequential scheme, and instead of the planned 84 seconds, it worked for 127 seconds. This was the main reason for the accident of the apparatus … But what led to this – it must be understand in detail. I am sure that we will receive all the necessary data during the work of the extraordinary commission. It has already been appointed and has started work. I think that in the very near future we will get the necessary results and we will certainly take this into account in the implementation on the next missions,“ said Borisov.
The entire experiment, Borisov continues, took place in an area of stable radio communication, Roscosmos specialists knew „everything about the ship’s position“.
„However, at 2:57 p.m., communication with the spacecraft was lost. Attempts to reestablish contact were unsuccessful. Preliminary ballistic calculations indicated that due to abnormal operation of the corrective propulsion system, the spacecraft entered an open lunar orbit and actually crashed into the surface of the moon,“ adds the head of the state corporation.
The specific reasons for the longer engine run are unclear. This often happens due to software errors, although some physical malfunctions still cannot be ruled out. Finally, the situation will have to be clarified by the commission investigating the incident.
„Under no circumstances should the lunar program be interrupted. That would be the worst decision. I think the negative experience of interrupting the lunar program for almost 50 years is the main reason for the failures. We actually have to master all the technologies in a new way . Of course, at a new technological level, but no one ever gives a 100% guarantee for such [new] missions. I can give examples that in the last four years the Israeli, Emirati, Indian missions suffered similar failures in landing on the moon,“ he stated Borisov.
At the same time, Borisov noted that the flight gave Russia invaluable experience. He also states that the country should definitely participate in the moon race. Given the fate of „Luna-25“ – a visual demonstration of the problems that non-participation in the lunar program brings. You can see Yuri Borisov’s full interview on this issue here.

The Lamborghini driver had a really hot day: while driving an expensive car on Khilkov Avenue, the engine could not withstand either the heat of the capital or the intensity of passions and caught fire. Fortunately, the man was able to get out of the car before it burst into flames and almost completely melted. True, he himself did not seem to notice the fire. „Stop, your car is on fire!“ – the driver was saved by vigilant passers-by.

According to Mash, this Lamborghini is listed as new on the auto club’s site – it was registered just a few weeks ago.

On the day when Japan and the world commemorate the 78th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima by the United States, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida condemned Russia’s threats to use nuclear weapons, France Press reported, quoted by BTA.
About 140,000 people died in the bombing of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, and another 74,000 – in the atomic bombing of Nagasaki three days later, at the end of the Second World War, recalls AFP.
„The devastation caused by nuclear weapons in Hiroshima and Nagasaki must never be repeated. Japan, the only country to be atomic bombed during the war, will continue its efforts to achieve a world without nuclear weapons,“ Kishida said at a ceremony in Hiroshima, where his family originated.
„The road to this goal is becoming increasingly difficult due to the growing disagreements in the international community about nuclear disarmament and the nuclear threat from Russia,“ he noted. „Given this, it is even more important to give a new international push to the aspiration to establish a world without nuclear weapons,“ the prime minister emphasized.
Kishida’s words were in the spirit of a statement by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, released on the anniversary of the bombing, in which he regretted that „some countries are again recklessly brandishing the nuclear sword, threatening to use these means of destruction.“ „In the face of these threats, the world community must speak with one voice. Resorting to nuclear weapons is unacceptable,“ Guterres said.
Thousands of people attending the memorial ceremony, including survivors, parents and relatives of those who died in the bombing, as well as foreign high-ranking guests from a record 111 countries, prayed for the victims and the wounded and called for world peace.
For the second year in a row, the city of Hiroshima did not invite Russia and Belarus to the ceremony because of the war in Ukraine.

At exactly 08:15 local time (23:15 GMT yesterday) – the hour when the first nuclear weapon ever used in war was dropped on Hiroshima – those present bowed their heads and observed a minute’s silence in memory of the victims.
Earlier this year, Kishida hosted the G7 summit in Hiroshima. He tried to make nuclear disarmament a priority topic in the discussions, taking the leaders of the other six countries in the group to visit memorials and a museum in the city’s Peace Park.
„World leaders must face the reality that the nuclear threats now being made by some politicians expose the folly of the nuclear deterrence theory. It will be increasingly important for us to call on politicians to abandon the concept of nuclear deterrence in favor of of a peaceful world that refuses to compromise with personal dignity and security,“ Matsui said, as quoted by DPA.
The first American bomb, dropped on August 6, 1945, over Hiroshima, killed tens of thousands of the city’s inhabitants in seconds. By the end of that year, however, the victims of the bombing were about 140,000.
Three days later, the US dropped a second atomic bomb – over the city of Nagasaki on the island of Kyushu. On August 15, 1945, Japan surrendered to the Allied forces, ending the war.

]]>The Israeli-flagged civilian ship Ams1 was the first to break through the Russian blockade in the Black Sea and enter the Ukrainian arm of the Danube River.
This is the first ship that crossed the Black Sea on a direct course to Ukraine after Russia’s threats to impose a blockade on all ships heading to Ukrainian ports, Aktualno.com reported.
As we wrote earlier today, three ships – Ams1, Sahin 2 and Yilmaz Kaptan, respectively under Israeli, Greek and Turkish/Greek flags, today announced on the automatic destination system a direct course to Ukraine without the Russian Black Sea Fleet stopping them.

Earlier pictures showed the ships crossing the Turkish straits and then the Black Sea.
But the latest screenshots published by the military blog Militarnyi show how the Israeli Ams1 has already entered the Danube, effectively breaking the Russian Black Sea blockade imposed by the bombing of the port of Odessa since July 25.
According to Flightradar, the ships were protected by a US P8 Poseidon aircraft, specially designed for spy missions and „hunting ships and submarines“, as it refueled over Romania. The aircraft was also accompanied by a Forte12 RQ-4 reconnaissance drone. In addition, the pictures show four other ships that are following Ams1 and have either dropped anchor already or will soon anchor in Danube ports.
I initially posted this as well. But taking a closer look those ships have joined the queue in Sulina, Romania like many other vessels. They have not entered Ukrainian waters. https://t.co/O4mU0dBYul pic.twitter.com/O76IpAYgYN

The army of Belarus is conducting military exercises with fighters from the Russian private military company „Wagner“, reports „Reuters“.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the country, they are carried out at a military base near the city of Brest, on the border with Poland.
Poland has already moved more than 1,000 soldiers to the eastern part of the country because of the presence of „Wagner“ in Belarus.
We recall that the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, invited „Wagner“ to start operations in his country as part of the agreement that ended the rebellion in Russia.

He stated that the Wagnerites were offered accommodation in former military camps. Subsequently, it was specified that it was a tent camp near the town of Osipovichi, Mogilev region.
On June 15, observers in Belarus reported a large convoy from PMC „Wagner“ arriving in the country. In the next two days, two other columns were spotted in the direction of Osipovici.
This is a new gripe with the Russian military leadership.

]]>Dmitry Medvedev spoke last night about approaching the Third World War. The reason for his comments on the first day of the summit of the US-led alliance in Lithuania is that a number of countries have pledged more weapons and financial support to Ukraine.
According to the former prime minister and president of Russia, the aid will not prevent Moscow from achieving its goals in Ukraine.
„The totally demented West could not think of anything else,“ Medvedev added.
„In fact, it’s a dead end. World War III is getting closer,“ he added on Telegram.

The Kremlin calls its actions in Ukraine a „special military operation,“ while Kiev and its allies say Moscow is waging an unprovoked war to seize land and dominate its neighbor.
The West says it wants to help Ukraine win the war, and Western forces have already supplied Kiev with large quantities of advanced weapons and ammunition, BTA reported, citing Reuters.
Medvedev presented himself as a liberal modernizer when he was president from 2008 to 2012, but now he plays the role of a staunch opponent of the West, a supporter of extreme measures.
Diplomats say his views provide insight into the thinking at the highest levels of the Kremlin elite.

Ukraine and other countries in Eastern Europe could be subjected to strikes on atomic power plants and nuclear facilities, warned the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev.
The reason for his publication in „Telegram“, in which the threats are made, are the claims in the supposedly power-related Mash channel about attempts to attack a nuclear power plant in Russia with British Storm Shadow missiles.
These data have not been confirmed by any independent Russian or international media and agency, the regional authorities in the two districts in the region, Smolensk and Kaluzhka, have not made such announcements.

However, Medvedev, former president and prime minister of Russia, states that „if the attempt to attack the Smolensk nuclear power plant with NATO missiles is confirmed, it is necessary to consider a scenario of a one-time Russian attack on the South Ukrainian nuclear power plant (Nikolaev region – note ed.) The Rivne NPP (Northwestern Ukraine, near Rivne/Rovno – note ed.) and the Khmelnytsky NPP, and also on nuclear sites in Eastern Europe.
The Khmelnytsky NPP in western Ukraine is the same one for which last week in Bulgaria a proposal was again made to provide the reactors for the unfinished Belene NPP days before the visit of President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Russian Ministry of Defense did not speak about the strikes mentioned by Medvedev and Mash. In a statement distributed by Russian agencies, there is talk of intercepted Ukrainian attacks on Russia with S-200 missiles, retooled in an offensive version and directed against the annexed Crimean peninsula, against the Russian Rostov and Kaluga (adjacent to Smolensk) regions.
