The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) has been given the task of liquidating the founder of PMC „Wagner“ Yevgeny Prigozhin. The corresponding statement was made by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov in an interview with The War Zone publication.

„We know that the task of killing Prigozhin was entrusted to the FSB. Will they succeed? Time will tell,“ commented Budanov.

At the same time, he stressed that any potential assassination attempts on Prigozhin would not be quick anyway.

„It will take some time for them to develop the appropriate approaches and reach the stage where they are ready for a large-scale operation. But I would like to emphasize that this is a big open question. Will they succeed in this? Will they dare to carry out this an order?” Budanov asked.

On June 24, PMC „Wagner“ founder Yevgeny Prigozhin together with his mercenaries raised a rebellion in Russia. He accused Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu of a deliberate attack on the „Wagnerians“ and announced the so-called „March of Justice“. Prigozhin announced that he would come to Moscow and „deal with“ not only Shoigu, but also the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov, reports „Focus.

However, his rebellion did not last long. By evening, Prigozhin, whose mercenaries had reached Rostov-on-Don, Voronezh and the Moscow region, turned the column in the opposite direction. After negotiations mediated by Alexander Lukashenko, it was announced that Prigozhin was accepting exile in Belarus.
