Madonna has thanked her family and friends for their support after she was hospitalized with a serious bacterial infection last month.

The singer shared on social media that she is lucky to be alive after her stay in intensive care. The 64-year-old previously said she was „on the road to recovery“ after spending several days in intensive care. She was due to start a seven-month world tour in the coming weeks, but had to postpone it.

„Love from family and friends is the best medicine.

One month out of the hospital and I can reflect,” the pop star said on Instagram on Sunday. “As a mother, you can really get caught up in the needs of your children and the seemingly endless giving. But when the cards came down, my kids really came through for me. I saw a side of them that I had never seen before.”

Madonna went on to thank her friends for their „love and support“ in the post, which included a photo of her hugging her son David and another posing next to her daughter Lourdes.

The singer thanked her manager Guy Oseary for the gift, adding: “I cried when I opened this present because I realized how lucky I am to be alive. „And how lucky I am to know these people and so many others who are also gone.

The post concludes: „And thank you to all my angels who protected me and let me stay to do my job!“

In a previous statement earlier this month, Madonna said her plan was to reschedule her upcoming North American concerts and begin her Celebration Tour in the UK in October. She was scheduled to kick off her Greatest Hits Tour in Canada on July 15. The European leg is scheduled to kick off with four nights at London’s O2 Arena from October 14.

When announcing the tour in January, she told fans: „I’m excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes of giving my fans the show they’ve been waiting for.“ This was to be her 12th tour, marking 40 years in music. industry.

US magazine Forbes lists her as the 45th richest self-made woman in the US with an estimated fortune of $580m (£460m) and says she has earned around $1.2bn from touring.

Your children are right. You must look after yourself more. I know you adore the buzz of performing but you must remember balance is key. You’re no use to your family, friends or fans if you’re not here. You’ve been incredibly lucky. Heed the sign and gain more balance in life. xx

My focus now is my health and getting stronger and I assure you, I’11 be back with you as soon as I can!
The current plan is to reschedule the North American leg of the tour and to begin in October in Europe.
