New data emerged today about one of the Bulgarians arrested in the United Kingdom on suspicion of espionage for Russia.
In his LinkedIn profile, 45-year-old Orlin Rusev – considered the leader of the group – indicated that between 1997-2001 he studied at
the prestigious Queensland University of Technology, Australia. After checking, a spokesperson for the educational institution told bTV that
„there is no record of anyone with that name graduating from the university.“

Again on LinkedIn, Rusev claims to run a technology business related to „signals intelligence and communications security.“
although the company discontinued this business almost two years ago.
Earlier it became clear that through his company Rusev provided surveillance equipment to Jan Marsalek, who is behind one of
Germany’s biggest financial scams. In 2020, Marsalek fled on a private plane that landed in Minsk. It is believed to be from there
taken to Moscow by Russian foreign intelligence.
