Jamie Lee Curtis has spoken out about Sinead O’Connor.

Sinead, 56, died yesterday.

The reasons are not yet clear.

I came home and have been listening to Sinéad’s music. Feels so different. Three Babies. The Last Day Of Our Acquaintance. Red Football. In This Heart. It alternates between heartbreak and wailing and incredible harmonies and rage and passion and love.

I went into my deep photo negative archive to see if that Eminem concert at that festival in Ireland, where I heard her sing earlier in the day, if I had taken a photograph that included her.

I had but never printed it, because Marianne Faithfull’s eyes are closed. And there she is.

Staring straight at me. Piercing and at the same time wide-open. I urge you to watch Kathryn Ferguson’s @kathrynferguson gorgeous and haunting portrait NOTHING COMPARES. It tells the story of Sinead’s life. Grim, and shattering and glorious and triumphant., she wrote.

What connects Sinead and Jamie Lee Curtis?

Both were born on November 22, but in different years. Sinead was born in 1966 and Jamie in 1958.

Both are singers and actresses.

Sinead is known for her hit song „Nothing Compares 2 U“ and her role in the movie „The Butcher Boy“.
Jamie is known for her roles in the films „Halloween“, „Switching Places“ and „True Lies“.

Both have had problems with depression and drugs. Sinead was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and made several suicide attempts. Jamie was addicted to alcohol and opiates and went through rehab.

I see a strike in my crystal ball. The souls of ghosts of performers long past urging us in this modern moment to fight for our rights to exist as creators. Since we will all stop utilizing social media to promote work that we are on strike for, this is my last offering from the wonderful new Disney movie @hauntedmansion and ironic because
in order to put Madame Leota inside her crystal ball and trap her there for hundreds of years, they used a digital technique which was a first for me, acting with my head in a vise, but the results are magnificent. A great combination of acting AND technology. What I will say is that although I AM computer generated, it is FROM my PERFORMANCE, my sense of comedic timing and you CANNOT replicate that with a machine. I stand STRONG with my union @sagaftra

The new Disney movie Haunted Mansion is an upcoming supernatural horror comedy that is expected to be released in 2023.
The film is based on the Walt Disney attraction of the same name and is directed by Justin Simien.

It stars Jared Leto, Rosario Dawson, LaKeith Steinfield, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito and Jamie Lee Curtis.

The plot tells of a single mother who hires a tour guide, a psychic, a priest and a historian to exorcise the ghosts from her newly bought house.

Jamie Lee Curtis’ last Disney film role was Aunt Viv in Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008). She also played the role of Tess/Anna Coleman in Crazy Friday (2003).

Jamie Lee Curtis to Greta Thunberg: ConGRADulations and THANK YOU

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis congratulated Greta Thunberg.

Earlier, Greta announced that she was graduating from school. She held the last school strike.

„ConGRADulations and THANK YOU @gretathunberg,“ Curtis wrote.

Greta Thunberg and Jamie Lee Curtis do not have a direct family or professional relationship, but have spoken to each other with support and respect. Jamie Lee Curtis is an American actress and writer who is known for her roles in films such as Halloween, A Fish Called Wanda and Freaky Friday.

Greta Thunberg is a Swedish climate activist who has become world famous for her school strikes and speeches at the United Nations and other forums.

Jamie Lee Curtis has shown her support for Greta Thunberg on social media, calling her influential and wishing her well in saving the environment.
She has also expressed her solidarity with Greta Thunberg after she was detained by police during a protest in Germany against the expansion of a coal mine.

Greta Thunberg did not respond directly to Jamie Lee Curtis, but thanked everyone who supports her in her fight for the climate.

„School strike week 251. Today, I graduate from school, which means I’ll no longer be able to school strike for the climate. So for me this is the last school strike, so I guess I have to write something on this day .
When I started climate striking, in August 2018, I could never have expected that it would actually lead to anything. After striking every day for three weeks, we were a small group of children who decided to continue doing this every Friday. And we did, which is how Fridays For Future was formed. Some more people joined, and quite suddenly this was a global movement growing every day. During 2019, millions of youth struck from school for the climate, flooding the streets in over 180 countries. When the pandemic started, we had to find new ways to protest. With time, we started to get back on the streets again. We are still here, and we are not planning on going anywhere.

So much has changed since we started, and yet we have so much further to go.

We are still moving in the wrong direction, where those in power are allowed to sacrifice the most marginalized and affected people as well as the planet in the name of greed, profit and eternal economic growth. They are continuing to destabilize the biosphere and our life supporting systems, and we are rapidly approaching potential nonlinear ecological and climatic tipping points beyond human control. And in so many parts of the world, we are even speeding up the process. There are probably many of us who graduated who now wonder what kind of future it is that we are stepping into, even though we did not cause this crisis.
Those of us who can speak up have a duty to do so. Everyone counts. In order to change everything, we need everyone. Of course I’ll continue to protest on Fridays, even though it’s no longer technically school striking. We simply have no other option than to do everything we possibly can.
