Deborah Cox announced some great news to her fans.
She’s back on Broadway.

She will be playing Glinda in The Wiz.

Glinda of the Wiz is the good witch of the magical land of Oz. She is the queen of the fairies and elves and helps the little girl Dorothy to return to Kansas. Glinda is the step-sister of the other two witches of Oz – Theodora and Ivanora. Glinda is known for her kindness, wisdom and beauty.

The news excited her fans from all over the world.

My first encounter with The Wiz was when I was around 4 or 5. That’s when the movie came out. As a young Black girl from Toronto it was the first movie I saw with a full black cast in a musical. I remember being wide-eyed, in awe.
It’s a dream come true to reimagine this role. This role embodies exactly where I am in my life and where I want to be.
It’s so beautifully resonates a message that I want to convey to the world.
“Believe in yourself right from the start. Believe in the magic that’s in your heart.“
