Two-time Australian Open champion Arina Sabalenka broke her silence after the death of former hockey player Konstantin Koltsov. As it has already become clear, the Belarusian died at the age of 42 after falling from the 23rd floor of a hotel in Miami, where the world No. 2 was participating in the tournament of the WTA 1000 series and had a match with Paula Badosa ahead of her.

Sabalenka released a short statement on social networks, from which it became clear that in fact the two were no longer a couple.

„Constantine’s death is an unimaginable tragedy, and even though we were no longer together, my heart is broken. Please respect my privacy and that of his family at this difficult time,“ the tennis star wrote.

Koltsov traveled to Miami to watch Sabalenka perform live on the court, despite their separation.
