Robert De Niro with two new hotels in Bulgaria

Robert De Niro’s chain will take over two hotels in Bulgaria.

The American hotel brand Nobu Hospitality, whose co-owner is the world-famous actor Robert De Niro, is entering Bulgaria, with two sites – in Sofia and Varna. This news caused a lot of interest, but where in the seaside city the site of Robert De Niro will be, was never mentioned.

According to information, both locations in Bulgaria of the Nobu Hospitality brand will be positioned in the ownership of BSPF Bulgaria, part of the offshore company Black Sea Property and the local hotel operator GHV-Dolphins.

One will be in Sofia – in the so-called „Banker’s building“ behind the National Theatre. The historical building was built in 1912 and has been declared an immovable cultural heritage.

The second hotel of the chain will be on the Black Sea coast in Varna.

The GHV-Dolphins company is the owner of one of the symbols of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast – Grand Hotel „Varna“. The emblematic hotel – one of the „stars“ in the film „Orchestra bez ime“ – was purchased by the company last year. The Tuzar Hotel – the first 5- a stellar one on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, was owned by „Multigroup“, but has not been functioning for several years.

Nobu Hospitality was founded in 1994. In 1997, the first Nobu opened outside the United States, in London. As of 2023, there are 56 restaurants in the world. The first Nobu hotel opened in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada in 2013. Two years later, in May 2015, Nobu opened a hotel in City of Dreams, Manila, Philippines. In October of that year, Crown Resorts bought a 20% stake in Nobu for US$100 million. By October 2020, the chain has 13 hotels.
