Oprah Winfrey and Dwayne Johnson The Rock just made a joint statement.

The rock posted a video on its Facebook profile.

Oprah Winfrey and I are honored to announce the People’s Fund of Maui, a fund putting money directly in the pockets of those who were affected by the recent wildfires.
As we have seen firsthand, the impacts of these wildfires have been devastating, and we’re here to ensure with 100% guarantee that your donations will go directly into the hands of Lahaina residents.
Every adult resident who lives in the affected area and was displaced by the wildfires in Lahaina and Kula is eligible to receive $1,200 per month to help them through this period of recovery.

If a millionaire and billionaire can come together put together 10 million towards helping people of Maui don’t you think it would be faster if they got their other millionaire and billionaire friends to all put together their millions towards that. It would be a lot faster that’s for sure.

Feeling guilty about it. And now she’s asking for money to help the land that she helped burn down.

I see people on boats taking those people’s supplies because they have roads and roadways blocked off so they can’t go in or get out.

I wish I could help but I’m struggling just to survive and maintain. I’m sure you know what that feels like. I know you’ll come through for those people with this fund. You will always do.
