AnMornings won’t be the same without you: NBC viewers are saddened by the departure of Anthony Antoine

One of NBC 12’s favorite hosts has made viewers sad.

He is leaving television.

Anthony Antoine released a touching post on Facebook:

After five incredible years, my time at NBC 12 is coming to an end. I have accepted the evening anchor position at FOX26 in Houston, Texas.
Richmond, my heart is filled with immense gratitude.

It’s been my honor and privilege to be the voice you woke up to each morning, the one you trusted to deliver the news with accuracy and integrity, and the person you shared a laugh with while you enjoyed that first cup of coffee.

The support, encouragement, and love you have shown me has been humbling, and I am eternally grateful.

We’ve made it through a pandemic together, a contentious Presidential campaign, and the removal of the Confederate monuments.

You trusted me to help guide you through those moments, and I THANK YOU! We’ve also shared some incredible moments, on and off the air.

I’ve seen humanity in its truest form thanks to my „Acts of Kindness“ franchise. It’s been a blessing to watch people cry tears of joy, embrace in the warmest of hugs, and smile because of the GOOD happening in our community. Those stories will stick with me for the rest of my life.
I am grateful to the entire team here at NBC 12 for their support and guidance. From the incredible producers to the directors, the editors, management, and everyone in between, it was my pleasure to share space with you on this journey.
I am INCREDIBLY EXCITED to start a new chapter in Houston! This moment is a culmination of a lot of hard work and I’m prepared for what’s ahead. I plan to share more about my move in the near future, but I have one month left in Richmond and I look forward to making more memories.

Anthony Antoine is an anchor and chief correspondent for NBC12 in Richmond, Virginia. He was born in Trinidad and Tobago and immigrated to the US at the age of ten with his family.  graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and worked as an intern at CBS in Los Angeles.
