Google Street View cars pass through Bulgaria

The Google Street View cars will once again cross the roads of Bulgaria this year
spring. In the coming months, they will be visiting many cities throughout, among
which Smolyan, Zlatograd, Isperih, Kardzhali and Pernik. The goal is to
update the images of cities and roads and to provide more
good navigation and orientation of users, as well as to show new ones
routes, landmarks and infrastructure in the Google Maps app.

Thanks to Google Street View, users have the opportunity to explore
most Bulgarian cities, but the infrastructure not only in populated areas, but also
between them changes and evolves, so Google aims for images to
update regularly. The new images will help users to
orient themselves even better when planning their trips. Street View shows
360-degree images not only of streets, but also of natural, cultural and
historical sites as well as walking routes and is a valuable tool
both for tourism and education and for business.
For the first time, cars photographed the Bulgarian cities in 2012 and since then
regularly update the staff. Photos from previous shoots also available for
users who are interested in looking at the development of
the infrastructure. Street View is a popular feature in Google Maps with over 220
billion images from around the world, thanks to which viewing distant
destinations and world landmarks is just a few clicks away.
Google puts emphasis on privacy protection. Before publishing the
collected images, they are processed with a special technology that blurs
people’s faces and car license plates so they can’t
be identified. Street View offers an additional blur feature
of images (of faces, cars, houses, etc.) which can be requested via
pressing the „Report a problem“ button in the lower right corner of each
image.
