Derek Hough: Get these thoughts out of your head immediately and your life will change for the better

Derek Hough wrote an extremely positive Facebook post.

It is so spiritual that it has caused mass sharing.

Derek told us how to direct our thoughts so that good things happen to us.

Here is what Derek wrote:

Sometimes, negative thoughts have a way of overpowering our minds, casting a shadow over our outlook on life.

It can feel as if these thoughts consume us entirely, leaving little room for positivity.

However, amidst the darkness, the light never leaves. Just patiently waiting to be seen. By consciously redirecting our attention to what’s good in our lives, we allow ourselves to experience its warmth and radiance. What we choose to focus on has a powerful impact on how we feel, reminding us that even in the midst of negativity, there is always an opportunity for change and growth.
Where focus goes, energy flows.

My life changed when I started thinking about the „Good“ things that happened that day. Maybe something negative also happened on any given day, but so much more Good. We are blessed but we just have to dwell on the positive and it will become dominant in our minds.

I agree with you. We have a choice each day on our thoughts and attitudes on our lives. We can be sad and depressed or be grateful we woke up. I chose to be grateful and happy today!

So true. When negative thoughts intrude into my mind, I immediately rebuke them. I concentrate on my many incredible blessings and my gratitude for them. I have way more blessings and positive experiences than anything negative. I’m really grateful and blessed.

Wish it were that easy when my depression actually takes hold. It’s easy when you’re sad/have the blues, but depression is a beast of its own.

Thank you for these words. I lost my wonderful husband of 54 years in October (day before his birthday) and I have struggled daily. It’s so easy to get caught up in the negative and my health paid the price. I am now on the road to health and once again becoming the positive person I always was and learning to balance my feelings and realizing he is still with me in spirit.

Derek Hough is an American professional dancer, choreographer, actor and singer. From 2007 to 2016, he was a professional dancer on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, where he won a record six times with his star partners. He has received eleven Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Choreography for his work, winning the award three times. He later became a judge on the show starting with the 29th season. Hough has also appeared as an actor on stage, appearing in the West End premiere of Footloose: The Musical and in the New York Spring Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall in New York. In film and television, he starred in the film Make Your Move and had a recurring role on the ABC musical drama Nashville. In 2016, he appeared as Corny Collins in the NBC musical TV production Hairspray Live! From 2017 to 2020, Hough served as a judge on the NBC show World of Dance. He was born on May 17, 1985 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA and He has four sisters, one of whom is actress and singer Julianne Houg. He has been engaged to dancer Hayley Erbert since 2022
