I thought this picture of a newborn star – another stunning image captured by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope – was too cool not to share. I’m continually amazed by what this telescope has been able to show us.

There were many interesting comments

Unfortunately if we had invested a couple of billions more we would have seen better the dark matter in there, that type of dark matter. But this is what we have today.

When I was growing up no one even guessed when writing about the future that we’d be able to see stars forming! I’ve lived long enough to see science fiction come true.

I think this may be an event much bigger than star formation. It looks to me from the immense shock wave jets to be a possible collision between two black holes. Perhaps this leads to star formation.
