A raw foodist from Russia fed his baby sunshine and it was gone in a matter of days
44-year-old Maxim Lutii, an influencer and blogger, admitted to the court in Sochi, Russia, that he is guilty of the death of his one-month-old son Cosmos.
Maximus Lutius wanted to raise his child by letting him feed only on the „energy of the sun“. He also repeatedly doused the baby with ice-cold water because he believed that it would harden him, British media reported, Dnes.bg and BTV reported.
The baby was emaciated and had pneumonia. Before pleading guilty in court, Lutius tried to frame the child’s mother for his death.
She has already been sentenced to two years of „educational work“. The court concluded that she should also bear part of the responsibility because she did not provide any assistance to the baby. The man accused the mother of suffering from iron deficiency as a result of her dietary choices, which caused the baby’s death. It weighed only 1.5 kg.
Maxim Lutius, who presents himself as a vegan on the Internet and is a supporter of raw food, repeatedly tried to stop Mironova from breastfeeding the baby.
He wanted the little Cosmos to absorb only the sun’s rays. Neighbors describe Luthius as a raw food fanatic and claim he is the leader of a cult-related club.
However, it now turns out that in custody Lutius himself is eating meat and pasta, neglecting his own dietary requirements.
When Maxim and Oksana finally decided to take the extremely weak child to a doctor, it was already too late. The baby expired on March 8, 2023, on the way to the hospital.
According to witnesses, the Russian wanted to experiment with his child and turn him into the modern Superman.
„He wanted to feed the child only with solar energy, and then present it to others and show that this type of feeding is possible,“ said a witness in court.
Luti faces a sentence of up to eight years in prison and a fine for intentionally causing grievous bodily harm.
