The water came to the Tyumen region unexpectedly, no matter how much the authorities prepared for it.
In a matter of hours, villages and highways were submerged and temporary embankments washed away. The disaster turned dozens of settlements into islands – tons of water cut them off from civilization.
People try to survive, save animals and try not to despair.
